Enyimba striker Chijoke Mbaoama is the NPFL Player of Week 34 after his brace earned his club a commanding 4-1 home win over Rivers United.
Big centre-forward Mbaoma shrugged off an injury to score in the 38th and 53rd minutes for ‘The People’s Elephant’.
He has now consolidated his place as the leading scorer in the league with 15 goals ahead of closest rivals Sikiru Alimi (Remo Stars) and Albert Hilary (Plateau United), who have scored 14 and 12 goals, respectively.
The win by defending champions Enyimba has kept the pressure on table toppers Enugu Rangers as they leapt to second on a better goals’ difference than Remo Stars.
Both teams have recorded 59 points each.
