Napoli may have effectively stopped a widely expected mega transfer by Victor Osimhen this summer after the club president announced the striker has agreed to extend his contract by two more years.
Osimhen has been the top target of several top clubs across Europe including Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG after a stellar season with Napoli and he was widely tipped to make a record-shattering transfer in this window.
However, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has now poured cold water on speculations regarding the player’s future.
Top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano quoted the Napoli President:“We’ve an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen to extend his contract for two more years”.
This extension will certainly come with a huge improvement on his Five Million Euros-a-year salary and other bonuses.
However, the Napoli owner will also leave the door a little open by saying the club will consider “an exorbitant bid” that is “impossible to reject”.
“In case an exorbitant bid impossible to reject arrives, we will see and make the best decision for the club,” he was further quoted.
Napoli have reportedly placed a 150 Million Euros price tag on the Super Eagles striker, who they bought for a record-breaking 70 Million Euros three years ago.
