Moses Simon will undergo surgery for a fractured left leg ankle injury Friday, his French Ligue 1 club have disclosed.
The 28-year-old winger suffered the injury on Super Eagles duty against Mali Tuesday in Marrakesh, Morocco.
He collided with the Mali goalkeeper during a fast counter attack after half an hour of action.
His absence is a big body blow for Nantes, who are battling to escape relegation this season.
He is one of the team’s major attacking weapons having scored three goals and provided six assists thus far.
Moses Simon only recently signed a new three-year contract with the club.
His initial contract was due to run out this summer.
