Captain Mikel Obi, Leon Balogun and Moses Simon are among the early arrivals as the Super Eagles training camp for the forthcoming AFCON opened today in Asaba, officials disclosed to SCORENigeria
Other call-ups who have reported are Jamilu Collins, Chidozie Awaziem and Semi Ajayi.
Former Chelsea midfielder Mikel is staging a comeback to the national team after he last played for the country at last year’s World Cup in Russia.
He is currently without a club after his short-term deal with English Championship club Middlesbrough ended after they failed to win promotion back to the Premier League.
The Eagles will face fellow AFCON qualifiers Zimbabwe in a friendly on June 8 in Asaba, before they fly out on a chartered flight to Egypt the following day.
The three-time African champions will also play another test game against Senegal in Ismailia on June 18, before they open their campaign on June 22 against debutants Burundi in Alexandria.
The final of the 2019 AFCON will be played on July 19 in Cairo.
