Enyimba striker Chijoke Mbaoma is now the leading scorer in the NPFL after he took his tally to 15 goals on the back of his brace against Rivers United at the weekend.
His goals include seven scored from the penalty spot.
Former CHAN Eagles striker Sikiru Alimi of Remo Stars is a goal shy of the Enyimba striker and his haul also includes four penalty goals.
Plateau United striker Albert Hilary has fired 12 goals with two of them coming from the penalty spot, while both Godwin Obaje (Enugu Rangers) and Bashir Usman (Niger Tornadoes) are on 11 goals apiece.
Three players have netted 10 goals thus far – Robert Mizo (Bayelsa United) as well as the Kano Pillars duo of Ibrahim Mustapha and Rabiu Ali.
Mizo has since taken his shooting boots to Libya.
