After injuring his ankle in training, Wilfred Ndidi is due to return to pre-season action for Leicester City for tonight’s friendly against English Championship side Hull City.
But should he fail to do so, he is expected to return for a double header against Preston North End and Derby County later in the week.
The defensive midfielder missed the final 16 games of the season in all competitions after undergoing surgery on the medial ligament in his knee.
He has been working on his recovery over the summer and returned to take part in pre-season.
He has however suffered a setback after twisting his ankle during City’s training camp in Evian.
“Wilf’s twisted his ankle in training a few days ago. We don’t think it’s too serious,” manager Brendan Rodgers told LCFC TV.
“It’s a high ankle sprain, so he had a scan on it and it’ll hopefully be okay.”
