Alex Iwobi is truly flourishing in his new role in front of the Everton defence this season as he again provided an assist for his Premier League club to draw 1-1 at Leeds United Tuesday night.
Iwobi again showed he is one of the best players for Everton this season.
The player himself said he is enjoying his latest position on the pitch.
“I’m enjoying it,” he told Everton TV.
“With the centre backs we’ve got, they help me a lot. They’re always vocal, telling me what positions to take up and it’s something we work on a lot in training.
“I feel like I’m improving and flourishing in that role.”
Iwobi has played on the wings as well as in central midfield and he said his versatility over the years has been good for him.
“It’s something that’s helped me over the course of my career,” he said.
“As a kid, I was always challenged in different positions, and I was able to do okay.
“It’s not particularly new for me to play in midfield – that’s where I play usually for my national team – so I’m enjoying my time there.”
