Super Falcons interim coach Justine Madugu has said he expects the team put up “a masterclass performance” against Algeria in two friendlies so as to bounce back from a below-par outing at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The nine-time Africa champions lost all three group games at the Paris Olympics.
“We have been having useful sessions since we resumed on Monday. I am impressed with the discipline and sense of dedication of the players, and I am looking forward to a masterclass performance by the Super Falcons in both games,” Madugu said.
“We respect the Algerians just as we respect every team we play, but the truth is that we need to bounce back strongly from the below-par outing in the Olympics and restore our team’s confidence and positive spirit.”
Madugu has selected a record 19 players who are based locally so as to test their readiness at the top international stage.
The Super Falcons do battle with Algeria Saturday in Ikenne, before a second match in Lagos three days later.
