Ike Ugbo, who was born in England but he is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles, is pushing Paul Onuachu for the top scorers’ prize in Belgium after he netted his 10th goal of the season for Cercle Brugge.
Chelsea loanee Ugbo scored a brace in a 4-3 home loss to Sporting Charleroi Tuesday.
The 22-year-old striker gave the hosts a 1-0 lead with a strike in the 17th minute.
He then doubled his side’s advantage in the 25th minute.
He has now scored 10 goals in 15 league games, four goals behind the league’s leading scorer Onuachu.
He has previously played for Roda JC (Holland), MK Dons, Barnsley and Scunthrope United (all in England) and has also featured for England U17s and U20s.
