Kelechi Iheanacho has said he will be ready for the new Premier League season with Leicester City.
‘The Foxes’ will get their new campaign underway on Saturday when they take on champions Manchester City in the Community Shield to open the new season.
Last season, Leicester City bagged their first-ever FA Cup, but again finished outside the Top-4 in the Premier League.
Leicester City’s top scorer last season with 19 goals in all competitions said they will be fitter and ready for the new season as they have been working hard.
“I’m getting fitter day by day and I think everybody is getting fitter,” he said.
“The coaches are doing a good job to get everybody at a very good level of fitness. We’re getting there and, before the season starts, everybody will be ready to crack on.”
He further said: “We’ve been working really hard. You know, obviously, it’s pre-season, so we need to work hard and get minutes and prepare for this season.
“We’ve been working really hard and preparing ourselves, so it’s going quite well.
“It’s not been a bad week at all. It’s hard and tough, but I think the last week was harder! It’s been going pretty good and, of course, we need minutes and game time for everyone.
“Hopefully that’s where we’re heading and I think we’re going in the right direction.”
