SCORENIGERIA rates the individual performances of the Super Eagles in a 2-0 loss to Madagascar today in Alexandria.
The Eagles suffered because too many players failed to deliver on the day.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa 5
He didn’t have much to do than to retireve the ball from his net twice. He made a goalline save and the goals he let in were not his fault.
Chidozie Awaziem 5
He did well defending on right flank, but committed some needless fouls and was lucky not be booked.
Ola Aina 6
Did fairly well again at left back. He defended well and did great going forward to support the attack.
William Ekong 6
He was calm as usual. Couldn’t do anything to stop both goals.
Leon Balogun 4
His schoolboy error resulted in Madagascar’s first goal. He was jiltery and almost caused another goal minutes later. A poor outing for a player who was once the country’s best defender. He is short on self-belief after his troubles in the Premier League last season.
John Ogu 3
He was not convincing and explains a lot why has has been on the fringes of the team for many years. It was not a surprise then when he was hauled off after 46 minutes.
Oghenekaro Etebo 5
He did well marking and trying to push forward. He was overworked because his fellow midfielders didn’t come to the party.
Mikel Obi 4
The skipper looked out of place in this game. His marking was not great and he lost balls easily. Not the Mikel we know.
Samuel Kalu 4
He was quiet in the first half hour until he switched to the left flank. His decision making remains a big problem as he does not often know when to dribble and when he should keep it simpler.
Odion Ighalo 4
He had torrid time against Madagascar central defenders led by Pascal Rasaq. He managed just a shot at goal which was off target. He was far from his best and was bullied for most of the game.
Ahmed Musa 4
He was also below par. He tried to do his thing on both flanks, but he could not.
Alex Iwobi 4
The 59th minute substitute tried to make impact in the midfield and attack, but the Madagascar remained resolute.
Wilfred Ndidi 5:
He battled in a failed effort to stabilise the midfield. His marking was clumsy and it was from one of his fouls that Madagascar won a freekick that was converted for second goal. He got the team’s only shot on target of the game.
Moses Simon 3
Did not do much after he replaced Samuel Kalu in the 73rd minute as Madagascar were well organised back in defence and did not give him the space to shine.
