Gent striker Gift Orban is often not far away from controversy and it seems he is again a time bomb soon to explode after he was a late sub at Club Brugge over the weekend.
The 21-year-old striker was introduced to the game only in the 85th minute.
After the final whistle, Gift Orban was clearly frustrated and photos of him after the match showed how unhappy he was.
This is not the first time that the striker has displayed his frustration. After the home match against Union St.Gilloise, he kicked a bottle of water hard. Then he was only allowed to come on five minutes before the end.
Gift Orban was not going to greet the supporters after the 2-0 loss as he took off his shirt and headed to the dressing room.
“That’s still a joke. He walked in with a brisk step without greeting the fans. I don’t think everyone will be satisfied with that,” Peter Vandenbempt told DAZN.
Franky Van der Elst understood it – “He only played seven minutes. I can understand his frustration, because he could have easily been brought in earlier.”
After Gent overpriced him out of the transfer market in the summer, Gift Orban is no longer getting enough game time, the goals have dried up and he has again been snubbed by the Super Eagles ahead of next month’s AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
