Gift Orban has said he is looking forward to playing in a “bigger league”.
The Gent striker showed he still has his shooting boots on when he scored in the thrashing of Zilina in the UEFA Europa Conference League Thursday.
“Look, I love Belgium, but I want to go to a higher-ranking league. I just want to gain more experience at a higher level,” Gift Orban said.
“My job is to play as high as possible.”
French Ligue 1 club Lille are understood to be in pole position to sign the explosive striker this summer.
He was delighted to get off the mark in the Conference League.
“This is only the first game of the season and I’ve already managed to score, so that’s good. I was also looking forward to it,” he said.
“I love this club and then you have to wet your jersey every time, even if it were my last match. Every match counts.”
