Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has said Enugu Rangers aim to beat Gombe United today to finish on 70 points and sign off on winning the NPFL championship in style.
This is his first NPFL title after coming close with MFM FC and Plateau United.
“The game in Jos is significant to us because we want to win every game,” said Ilechukwu, who wishes to be known as ‘The Building One’.
“We want to see Rangers hit 70 points, we are on 67 points right now.
“No match is a small match and we shall approach the match against Gombe United with all the respect it deserves, but with the mindset of winning.”
This is the eighth NPFL championship in the 54-year history of ‘The Flying Antelopes’.
Today, Rangers leading scorer Godwin Obaje will hope to increase his goals’ haul of 11, Ejike Ugochukwu could make his 37th appearance in his very first season in the top flight, while goalkeeper Japhet Opubo targets improving on his clean-sheets of 12 in 28 games.
