Various sources have informed SCORENigeria that a definite decision on whether or not Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be available for Friday’s AFCON quarterfinal will be taken later today.
At the weekend, the Chippa United goalkeeper suffered a knee injury which forced him not to complete the AFCON Round of 16 clash against Cameroon.
The biggest question surrounding the Super Eagles ahead of their showdown against Angola is whether or not Nwabali will return to the goal posts Friday.
The player himself said after the match that he was feeling pains in the knee and will wait on the doctor to ascertain the severity of the injury.
“Later today a clearer assessment will be done to know if the player will be okay to play the next game,” one source told SCORENigeria
Another source told SCORENigeria that the medical staff are trying to be as careful as possible after the controversies caused by the decision to drop Real Sociedad striker Sadiq Umar over injury.
