Nigeria U20 women’s team, the Falconets, today spanked hosts Congo 4-0 in Brazzaville in the third round of the qualifying tournament for next year’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
The return leg will be played on December 18 in Lagos.
Mercy Idoko, who fired four goals in the previous round against Central African Republic, opened scoring for Nigeria after 38 minutes.
The other goal scorers were Flourish Sebastine (47th minute), Esther Onyenezide (50th minute-pen) and Deborah Ajibola (55th minute).
Congo eliminated Egypt in the previous round of the qualifiers 4-2 on aggregate, while Nigeria walloped CAR 11-0 after two legs.
