Premier League club Chelsea have proposed a new arrangement for them to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli., while their top transfer target Romelu Lukaku goes in the opposite direction.
In a very fluid situation, a proposal that would involve a swap deal of Romelu Lukaku has been abandoned because of Osimhen’s humongous release clause of 130 Million Euros.
Instead, Chelsea now want to get Osimhen on a season-long loan, while Lukaku joins Napoli on a permanent basis.
According to Top Transfer Expert David Ornstein of The Athletic, Napoli are in talks with Chelsea to sign Lukaku, while at the same time the other proposal is for Osimhen to move to Chelsea on a loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer thereafter.
A season-long loan deal for Osimhen with a buy-back clause is now currently on the front burner, either as an obligation or by option.
Napoli have also raised the option for obligation if Chelsea qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
This will only be possible if Napoli president Aurelio De Luarentiis agreed to this arrangement that would diminish Osimhen’s transfer fee.
Chelsea could then face a major clearout of strikers Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana.
