Super Falcons will hope to make the most of their chances against world champions Spain tomorrow so as to stay alive at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Nigeria fell 1-0 to Brazil in their opening Group C game Thursday after they failed to take the chances they created in the game.
They are now bottom of the group without points and goals, while Spain, who beat Japan 2-1, occupy top place.
“We missed quite a few chances against Brazil, and they took their chance,” said Ajibade, who plays for Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
“We will do our best to take our chances against Spain on Sunday.”
Coach Randy Waldrum looks set to start with the same team against Brazil.
This means that poster-girl Asisat Oshoala is again consigned to the bench as she is still not in good shape.
Ajibade, Tosin Demehin and Deborah Abiodun caught the eye against the South American champions in Bordeaux.
Defender Nicole Payne is most likely to replace Chidinma Okeke, who struggled at left back in the opening game.
The younger sister of Everton new signing Toni Payne, Nicole was decent when she replaced Okeke in the second half against Brazil.
USA-based Michele Alozie will then slot into left back in what looks like a 4-1-4-1 formation favoured by Waldrum.
