Daniel Amokachi will not be an assistant to Super Eagles coach Finidi George and there is no going back on this decision, according to credible sources close to the former World Cup star.
Amokachi has been conspicuously missing from the Super Eagles build-up to 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.
SCORENigeria has since learnt that he rejected certain terms in the loose contract arrangement provided for the assistants of the new Super Eagles coach.
And this was what he told Finidi when he called him and informed him of his decision to stay out of the Super Eagles.
Amokachi himself has refused to talk with the media on the situation.
It was further gathered that it was the NFF who imposed him on Finidi, who was not enthusiastic with working with him in the first instance.
It would also be recalled that USA U19 coach Michael Nsien claimed he also turned down a pay-as-you-work arrangement to be part of the Super Eagles technical staff.
