SCORENigeria has exclusively learnt that former Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma was on the verge of being appointed new coach of NPFL side Lobi Stars before former Super Eagles star Daniel Amokachi was announced.
A source told SCORENigeria that Eguma had even met with the Benue State Governor and what was only left was the formal announcement as the new Lobi Stars coach.
“It was a big shock to the Eguma camp when Amokachi was announced as the new Lobi coach because he had all but agreed to be the coach of the Makurdi club,” the source told SCORENigeria
Eguma was fired as Rivers United coach last season after more than a decade in charge of the Port Harcourt outfit.
Well done to Ademola Lookman on his nominations for Ballon Dor. It was a shame he was robbed by the incompetent match officials at Uyo. A big disappointment that CAF never deem it wise to use VAR for its games. This is a backwards trend in the modern games. Nigeria was also robbed of a penalty against South Africa in the world cup qualifying series. CAF needs to wake up and catch up with the rest of the World.
