Jerome Akor is again pushing for a Super Eagles call-up after a number of stand-out showings for Montpellier in pre-season build-up to the new Ligue 1 campaign.
Akor banged seven goals in his first nine appearances in his debut season in the French Ligue 1.
He finished the season on 10 goals in all competitions.
Before his move to France, Akor dominated the Norwegian league in 2023, attracting interest from clubs in France, England and Italy.
This was after the former Flying Eagles striker netted 17 goals and provided two assists in 17 games for Lillestrøm.
By the time the 24-year-old striker departed the Norwegian club, he had amassed over 28 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances, totaling more than 3,300 minutes of play.
With such impressive stats, his call-up to the Super Eagles is imminent as the team re-organise for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers beginning from September.
