The Super Eagles could further improve their FIFA Ranking as they progress in the AFCON in Cameroon.
After a 100% record in the group stage of the tournament, the Eagles are now third in Africa and 31st in the world with 1510 points behind Morocco (1541) and Senegal (1547).
All three teams are through to the Round of 16, but they will only gain points from the quarterfinal of the AFCON.
The FIFA Ranking will be employed for the draw of the 2022 World Cup in Doha, Qatar, on April 1.
Today, the Super Eagles will know their route to the 2023 AFCON, which will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire between June and July.
And on Saturday, the three-time African champions will know the team that will stand between them and a place at the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off in November.
