Samuel Kalu will not play again this year no thanks to a thigh injury, according to his French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
Kalu injured his right thigh in his club’s 1-0 win at Rennes on November 20, according to coach Jean-Louis Gassett.
“I am disappointed,” he lamented.
“He has suffered a muscle tear of his right thigh and that will mean between 10 and 15 days of rest.
“We can only think of 2021 for him.”
The winger has battled many setbacks in recent times – the kidnapping of his mother back in Nigeria, a Coronavirus positive test, as well as a hamstring injury on Super Eagles duty in October, which sidelined him for several weeks.
