Cyriel Dessers has admitted he is disappointed the Super Eagles have not called him up for AFCON double qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
The Genk striker opted to play for Nigeria and not Belgium and made his long-awaited debut last month against Tunisia.
However, he has since been overlooked for the AFCON qualifiers against the Leone Stars this month.
The 25-year-old striker has said he was disappointed not to be listed, but will hope to continue to do well for his club to be recalled.
“Personally, I was not happy when I heard that I had not made the selection,” Dessers said.
“But that shows that I have to play more at Genk and try to be among the best players every week.”
He has scored three goals in the league for Genk thus far.
