French Ligue 1 club Rennes claim they are yet to be paid by Turkish club Trabzonspor any part of the transfer fee agreed for winger Kazeem Olaigbe.
L’Equipe has reported that Rennes have not yet received a single euro of the agreed-upon transfer fee of five million euros.
The deal was structured in several installments, with the first payment of approximately €1.7 million due in the autumn. Despite several reminders, there has been no word from Turkey so far.
For Rennes, this is an unpleasant situation they would rather have put behind them.
Olaigbe, 23, never really established himself as a regular starter in France and only started three times, despite a contract running until 2030. Now his departure also threatens to have a financially painful aftertaste.
