Super Eagles coach George Finidi has said he is still house hunting in Abuja after he rejected the houses he has so far inspected.
“The houses were not good enough, so I am still looking for one in Abuja,” Finidi revealed during his media tour.
His recently-signed contract comes with an official house and car.
He said he already has an official car and driver in Abuja.
The former Ajax winger was in his third year at Enyimba during which time he led them to a record ninth NPFL championship.
I am starting to be concerned about Finidi’s disposition, from his lack of requisite man-management skills during the last two Super Eagles’ friendlies, to his “big-man” mentality. What does he need a driver for? A former world class footballer and athlete needs to be chauffeured around?
Can he manage the egos of the stars on the SE? Also, the Captain/Skipper does not always have to be the most senior player. That is a bunch of nonsense and is why I have always had reservations about any member of that 1994-2002 Golden Generation of players managing the SE or our football as a whole. That generation introduced the “Mafia” mentality into the SE and that cancer ultimately ate into the fabric of their set-up, the main impediment to their winning more laurels, and possibly being he first African team to win the FIFA World Cup. I wish Finidi success, but he must do things differently if he wants to succeed. The status quo mentality is, and will always be a recipe for disaster.
Driving is a full-time job
Please do not forget that Finidi ain’t Abuja based before the appointment so trying to make appointments might be difficult for a JJC in Abuja and at the same time, is Finidi too young to be chauffeured? It came with the contract nonetheless and its not a matter of forming bigmanism, you don’t know the set-up with Eyimba, do you?
Meant “being there” not “being he”.
Meant “being the” not “being he”
Wonderful! Nigeria will always accept and receive one of her own. When England rejected him at senior national team level, we embraced him. Here he is today!
Let other Europe born Nigerian players learn lessons from Lookman.
Finidi George should be bold and from the failures and successes of Jose Peseiro. There is saying that too many broth spoil the eggs…
He must not listing to everybody, but must make sure the boys are motivated at all times.
Nigeria have quality players that can even lift the world cup
