Despite losing 2-1 to South Africa in their opening day game, the Super Falcons will not press the panic button just yet according to coach Randy Waldrum.
The Super Falcons got off to a shaky start in Group C Monday night in Rabat, Morocco, after Banyana Banyana scored twice before Rasheedat Ajibade pulled a goal back in added time.
“We can’t panic at this period, we still have two group games and we have to improve,” said Waldrum.
“We knew it would be a difficult game. It is the first game of the tournament and it is a long tournament.
“I was surprised with our performance in the attack. We got a late goal and we tried to get back in the game, we are still positive.
“We will analyse and review individual players’ performance and make the right decisions in the next games.”
On Thursday, the defending champions take on Botswana, who got off to a flying start by beating fellow debutants Burundi 4-2 in their opening group game.
