South Africa tonight dumped hosts and tournament favourites Egypt to set up an AFCON rematch with the Super Eagles Wednesday for a place in the semifinals.
The South Africa vs Nigeria quarterfinal will kick off at 8pm.
Bafana Bafana shocked seven-time champions Egypt 1-0 before a packed Cairo Stadium Saturday night, while Nigeria eliminated defending champions Cameroon 3-2 earlier in the day in Alexandria.
Interestingly, South Africa had shocked Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo in June 2017 in a qualifying match for the 2019 AFCON.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture in Johannesburg in November 2018.
