Bordeaux have announced that Samuel Kalu will have to undergo further assessment after he collapsed on his own early into to a Ligue 1 game at Olympique Marseille tonight.
Kalu slumped without any other contact four minutes into the game.
The winger was subsequently surrounded by players of both teams as he was attended to by medics, a la Eriksen at the recent Euros.
He later returned to the pitch but was then replaced in the 14th minute.
It would be recalled that a section of the media reported that the same player suffered a heart attack at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The Super Eagles maintained that he only suffered from dehydration.
Last season, Kalu suffered several setbacks both on and off the pitch – he reported late for pre-season, contacted Covid-19 and he was also sidelined for several weeks after he was injured on Super Eagles duty in Austria.
