Terem Moffi and FC Lorient look set for a much improved showing when the new Ligue 1 season gets underway next weekend when their Nigeria striker grabbed the match winner against Angers for the coastal club to round up their pre-season preparations unbeaten.
Lorient, who battled against relegation last season, won three and drew two of their pre-season games.
Moffi, who netted 15 goals in his debut season in France, got his second goal leading up to the new campaign against fellow Ligue 1 club Angers Saturday.
The 22-year-old striker proved to be a predator when he was first to react after the Angers goalkeeper spilled a ball in the 66th minute.
It was a fitting way to celebrate his award as Lorient Best Player of the Season.
He was later denied a second goal when his delightful chip over the goalkeeper was cleared off the line.
Lorient will open the new season on Saturday at Saint Etienne.
