After a decision by a new management not to buy Henry Onyekuru, Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray are set to part ways with the Nigerian pair of Jesse Sekidika and Valentine Ozornwafor.
According to media reports in Turkey, Galatasaray currently have 12 foreign players in their team, but Turkey Football Federation’s new rule says they can’t have more than eight in their squad.
Valentine Ozornwafor, who played only eight minutes last season and debuted for the Super Eagles recently, and Jesse Sekidika are surplus to requirements at the Istanbul club.
Sekidika played on loan at Konyaspor last season and may still be sent out on loan for next season, while Ozornwafor’s contract may be terminated if they cannot secure a loan deal for the central defender.
The fate of yet another Nigeria star, Oghenekaro Etebo, is unclear after he spent the past season on loan from English Championship side Stoke City.
