Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho extended their fine run in front of goal, while there were some surprise names like Isaac Success and Kevin Akpoguma among the goals.
5.Isaac Success
The once promising striker scored his first goal in almost three years after a long-term injury and a slump in form. It was for already promoted Watford and it was on the final day of the regular season in the English Championship. This will be hoping he can re-create in the Premier League the form that once put him ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho in the Nigerian age-group teams.
4.Kevin Akpoguma
The central defender scored his first-ever goal in 67 Bundesliga appearances against relegated Schalke 04. He has only recently bounced back from injury, which limited his appearances this season for Hoffenheim. He will also be in line to return to action with the Super Eagles now.
3. Paul Onuachu
He scored his 31st goal in the Belgian Jupiler League as Genk smashed past defending champions Club Brugge 3-0 and open up the championship playoffs. Genk have already qualified for the UEFA Europa League by virtue of winning the cup, but they could be elevated to feature in the Champions League should they finish as champions or runners-up. You cannot rule them out of going all the way with the regularity their Nigeria giant striker has been banging in the goals.
2.Kelechi Iheanacho
Leicester City have a huge battle to stay in the Premier League Top-4 after a 4-2 loss at home to struggling Newcastle United, but their Super Eagles striker Iheanacho continued to score after he fired one of his team’s consolation goals in that loss. He has now netted 14 goals in his last 15 games. He has now scored 11 goals in the Premier League, by far his most productive since his debut in the 2015/16 season, when he scored eight goals for Manchester City.
1.Victor Osimhen
The striker grabbed his first brace for Napoli in a 4-1 win at Spezia, which got them back into the Serie A Top-4 and a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season. His pace and finish were again in full display as he was rewarded with Man of the Match Award. He has now recorded double figures – 10 goals – after a season blighted by injury and Covid-19 infection. He will certainly prove to be money well spent should Napoli finish in the Top-4 and qualify for the Champions League.
