Seven-time champions Flying Eagles of Nigeria have not been seeded for this evening’s draw for next year’s U20 AFCON in Egypt.
This means the Flying Eagles under coach Ladan Bosso could be drawn against hosts Egypt, last tournament’s runners-up Uganda or Gambia, who have been named as top seeds.
The Flying Eagles are in Pot 3 along with Benin, Senegal, Zambia, South Sudan and Congo.
The draw will begin by 6pm.
The tournament will be played from 19 February to 11 March 2023 in Egypt: Cairo, Ismailia, and Alexandria.
Twelve teams qualified to the finals after the conclusion of the zonal qualifiers last week:
- WAFU B: Benin, Nigeria
- COSAFA: Mozambique, Zambia
- UNAF: Egypt (the hosts), Tunisia
- CECAFA: South Sudan, Uganda
- WAFU A: Gambia, Senegal
- UNIFFAC: Congo & Central Africa
