The Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the recovery of public property Monday in Abuja grilled NFF president Amaju Pinnick and vice-president Shehu Dikko for several hours in connection with conspiracy and alleged case of diversion of public funds at the NFF.

NFF secretary general Mohammed Sanusi is expected to be also quizzed today.

It was also gathered that Pinnick was directed by the panel not to travel overseas as he may still be needed for more questioning in this criminal case.

Panel chairman Obono Obla has maintained that there will be no sacred cow in this probe and that Pinnick, whose name has been mentioned severally in the course of this investigation, will be called up should investigators deem it necessary.

“It is not in my chairmanship that anyone mentioned will be excluded,” Obla  insisted.

“The investigators have their way of doing things, I don’t interfere and I can assure you that anybody whose name has been mentioned will be investigated.”

Pinnick’s invitation by the panel was received at the NFF secretariat on Thursday with aides claiming he was out of the country only for the NFF boss to attend several public functions locally thereafter.

During Monday’s grilling Pinnick told the panel he plans to be out of the country this week, but he was directed not to as his attention may be needed at very short notice.

An official later described both Pinnick and Shehu Dikko as “visibly shaken” after the interrogation.

It was the third appearance by Shehu Dikko before the panel after his formal statement was dismissed as “unsatisfactory”.

More officials are also due to appear before the panel this week, officials further informed SCORENigeria

Also in the fight against corruption, three top NFF officials will again appear before the High Court in the FCT on November 28 over an alleged theft of 3.4 billion Naira.
