Enugu Rangers won the 2018 Aiteo Cup after a dramatic comeback against Kano Pillars

Enugu Rangers captain Okey Odita has told SCORENigeria that he has treasured major honours with the club as they have come at the twilight of a long career.

Rangers won the NPFL championship two years ago and last week, they clinched the Aiteo Cup after another long wait.

“I give God the glory, winning two trophies, the league and FA Cup in three years is very wonderful,” Odita told SCORENigeria

“It is even more worth celebrating at this stage of my career.

“God’s time is the best. He sets the time and season for everything and I must appreciate Him for me to see it all, win it all at the twilight of my career”.

Odita recounted his team’s remarkable comeback against Kano Pillars in the 2018 Aiteo Cup final.

“I give God the glory, it is not easy, without God, this wouldn’t have been possible,” he credited.

“It was a difficult game, Kano Pillars were tough, but we expected it, being a fellow NPFL team.

“At that (3-0 vs Rangers) point, we still believed in ourselves that we can turn things around once we got a goal back early enough and it happened.”

The younger brother of former Rangers captain  Chukwudi Odita said they are now looking forward to a successful 2019 CAF confederation Cup campaign.

“The first thing is to get the ticket which we have done now,” he said.

“Next up is for us to prepare well and ensure we do the state and nation proud next year on the continent”.
