Usman Abdalla – Enyimba coach wanted by several other NPFL clubs

Enyimba coach Usman Abdalla may have become the most sought after manager in the domestic top flight with no fewer than five NPFL sides understood to have contacted him,  SCORENigeria can report.

The clubs, our checks revealed, are Kano Pillars, where he enjoyed a previous stint, Akwa United, Nasarawa United,  Katsina United and Yobe Desert Stars.

But the Enyimba stand-in coach, who confirmed he had been approached over a possible move, said it was unprofessional and against his personal policy and integrity to begin to speak to other clubs on job prospect while still under contract at Enyimba.

“I’m still under contract here at Enyimba until the end of the season”, remarked the soft-spoken Abdalla.

“So, it is unprofessional to begin to speak about contracts with other clubs when I’m still tied down contractually until the end of the season with a club as big as Enyimba.

“I mean it is against my principle, it is against my policy, integrity and philosophy.

“Yes, there have been contacts but I insisted I have a huge task at hand at the moment which is our CAF Confederation Cup semifinal return leg match away to Raja Casablanca, Morocco in two weeks.

“That is a national assignment which is my major focus for now. I don’t want any distraction at the moment.

“When I’m done with it, who knows, we can go there (Morocco) and win and go to the final.

“After that, which of course marks the official end of the season,  one can then begin to listen to offers from clubs.”
