Gernot Rohr has said he believes that home and away wins against Libya will qualify the Super Eagles to next year’s AFCON.
“If we won two times (vs Libya), we can be there already at the AFCON,” he said.
“This will be in four days.
“It’s pleasure not pressure. It’s a fantastic situation.
“It will be difficult, but it’s also possible.
“But let’s start with the first game on Saturday.”
He recalled the 2-0 home loss to South Africa last year, insisting the team have since put that setback behind them.
“We lost in June (2017) to South Africa due to some individual mistakes. We have forgotten this and we now want to qualify for the AFCON,” he said.
Three-time African champions Nigeria have failed to qualify for the last two AFCONs, in Equatorial Guinea in 2015 and in 2017 in Gabon.
