Super Eagles

Officials have reported that Super Eagles are facing a hard time connecting direct flights to their training camp in Uyo for Saturday’s AFCON clash against Libya.

Only four players have so far arrived Uyo – William Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Isaac Success and Daniel Akpeyi.

“It has been a logistical nightmare for the players to fly directly into Uyo. Seats are not available,” said Eagles spokesman Toyin Ibitoye.

“A player like Akpeyi had to fly to Port Harcourt and then hit Uyo by road as a result of this problem.”

However, officials remain positive that most of the call-ups will arrive in time for today’s evening training.

Officials also said goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa will be looked at by the medics after he was injured in Wednesday’s Aiteo Cup quarterfinal against Kano Pillars.
