Heartland FC

A massive clear-out of players is imminent in Heartland with no fewer than 17 players already recommended for chop by the coaching crew,  scorenigeria.com.ng understands.

“We had 35 registered players last season and the technical crew in their end of season technical report have recommended for the retention of 18, while 17 should look elsewhere”, an official told SCORENigeria

The hierarchy of the club is yet to make public the players who should leave neither have they released the list of those to be retained.

“They told us they would reach out to those who would be retained, but at the moment we’ve not heard anything”, one of the players told SCORENigeria

Heartland were slated to regroup today for preparation ahead the 2018/2019 NPFL season slated to get underway in November, but logistic shortfalls have hampered that.

“We were to resume on Monday and Okigwe was chosen as the camp site. The coach has inspected the location and given his nod,” an official said.

“But a few things needed to be sorted out before the players start arriving.”

Heartland were firmly rooted to the base of the league standings, but we’re spared a second relegation in two years following the suspension of the league by LMC and the decision not to relegate any club.
