Kelechi Nwakali after dazzling Atletico Madrid in Uyo

Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali has said he is ready to take his chance with the Super Eagles.

The young midfielder gave a foretaste of what to expect of him in a green-white-green shirt of the Eagles in June with a five-star display for the ‘B’ team against Atletico Madrid.

He will play for FC Porto second team this season and he said he hopes to do his best so as to be called up to the Super Eagles.

“I hope I can keep my performance up and hopefully also with the national team should I be called up,” Nwakali declared.

“It has always been my dream to represent my country at the highest level.

“If the coach decides I am up for it, I will be ready to take up the challenge.

“I will therefore work hard, improve myself and be at my best to ensure I am part of the Super Eagles.”

Nwakali has already captained the country’s U17 and U20s, leading the country to win the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile and he was picked as the MVP of the tournament.
