SCORENigeria can specially report that FC Hearts stars Hassan Lawrence and Abdulsalam were deadline signings for Swedish division 1 club Kristianstad FC.
They impressed during trials and have now joined the club till the end of the season for the initial agreement.
Lawrence is a centre-forward, while Abdulsalam is a box-to-box midfielder with a big engine.
“They are two really good players. They have impressed me a lot in training,” praised KFC coach Besnik Llazani.
The two Nigerians came to Sweden and Växjö in early April. During the spring they played with Växjö United in Division III and were the reason Växjö are topping their league.
Lawrence netted nine goals for Växjötröjan in the spring, while Abdussalam has most impressed the KFC leadership.
“He’s a bit like (N’Golo) Kante and good for our level. He has won all matches, is placement safe and not wiped away many balls. It will be incredibly exciting to see him play for us, “said KFC sports manager Dennis Nanasi.
The players are pleased with their new challenge.
“We want to play as high as possible and it was an easy decision to make when we got the chance. It will be fun and hopefully we can help the club,” Lawrence told the club’s website.
Should their work permit come through as hoped, they could debut against Oskarshamns AIK next Saturday.
KFC are 13th in the 16-team championship with 17 points from as many matches.
