Sunday Faleye has told SCORENigeria he is most grateful for all the support he received after he underwent successful surgery on his elbow which he injured at the recent CHAN in Morocco.
Faleye, 19, injured his elbow in 2018 CHAN group game against Angola in January and has not played ever since.
Faleye was operated on in Altach on Wednesday.
“I wish to thank God and all those who supported me at such a difficult time,” he said.
“I am most grateful for the prayers and the goodwill.”
His agent, Josef Lenhart, told SCORENigeria: “It was a successful surgery and most importantly he is already recovering fast.
“This is not just about football, but the life of a young boy.
“Hopefully, he will be back playing again in the next three, four months after undergoing his rehabilitation.”
Lenhart is the President of Sporteo, a sports management company which has a marketing agreement with the Austria Football Federation.
The injury has put on hold any transfer for Faleye, his agent said.
