Simeon Nwankwo goes for an aerial ball on his Super Eagles debut against DR Congo

SCORENIGERIA catches up with Super Eagles rave of the moment Simeon Nwankwo – simply ‘Simy’ – after his debut against DR Congo on Monday in Port Harcourt.

The full interview:

SCORENIGERIA: ‘Simy’, great to catch up with you. What can you say about your Eagles debut against DR Congo?

SIMY: I think it was a satisfactory one and it was a dream come true. It was a moment of honour for me and I am so happy. I am proud of what I have been able to achieve and the opportunity given to me.

I think it was a good debut and a good game. The result was okay and it’s something positive, we have to keep working hard to prove more.

Coach Gernot Rohr said he was satisfied with your performance and that you bring something different to his attack.

For me, I just have to keep working hard and see how things turn out. I think the coach has a lot of experience and he knows what is good for the team.

So far, so good, we have been working hard and things have been moving in the right direction.

I am so happy with the kind words coming from him. I just think I can keep improving and see how things will go.

What match in the just-concluded season in the Serie A would you say is still fresh in your memory?

It was satisfactory season for me. This was my second season in the Serie A, I have adapted to it and it’s more important for me that I was consistent, it was a very positive season for me.

But for me I don’t think more of what happen this season, that one is gone, I have to think and focus more on the next thing I have to do. I want to focus on the Super Eagles and see how far I can go.

Thank you so much ‘Simy’.

Thank you too
