Media reports in Belgium have claimed that Henry Onyekuru is angry he has yet to play a comeback game for Anderlecht and so has not trained with the Belgian club this week.
Onyekuru had hoped to use the playoff games to push for a place on the Super Eagles provisional squad after he had recovered fully from a long-term knee injury.
However, the Anderlecht coach insisted he was not ready to return to full action.
This week, Onyekuru has not trained ahead of the final game of the season and Anderlecht said he was suffering from a stomach problem.
In the meantime, his handlers are exploring the possibilities of the 21-year-old forward getting a work permit to play for parent club Everton next season even though he was overlooked by Nigeria for the World Cup.
This comes at a time when several clubs including Besiktas and Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to take him on loan in the new season.
