Victor Moses

Victor Moses has said he is dreaming of scoring the winner in the FA Cup final on Saturday against Manchester United after he saw red in last year’s final.

Moses, who was sent off in the last season’s final against Arsenal at Wembley, said he hopes to be the match winner to erase the memory which he described as career worst so far.

“It would be a dream to score the winning goal. But the most important thing is that it’s all about the team. The team effort,” he told London News.

“We need to work hard, stick together and hopefully if we can do that, we can overcome anyone. No one can afford to take their foot off the gas.”

He continued: “We know we have Man United in the final, but it won’t be easy. If we can win it, it will be a great bonus, but we just want to finish strong.

“The sending off at Wembley was definitely the worst feeling ever that I’ve experienced in my career, and in an FA Cup final as well.

“I wanted to be on the pitch to help my team mates.

“But that’s gone now, we have another final on Saturday against Manchester United to look forward to and we want to win it.

“It’s played on my mind a little bit, but apart from that, it’s happened, there’s nothing I can do about it. I can’t rewind it back, to try and not get a red card, it is what it is, it’s football.”

The ex-Crystal Palace winger said the players have to motivate themselves following a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United that denied them a UEFA Europa ticket.

“The most important thing is that we just have to motivate ourselves to win it,” he said.

“Every one of us wants to stay disciplined and focused and do what the manager asks of us on the pitch and make sure that we win.

“We are looking forward to it. It’s always a tough game when you go and play Man United, they have quality players, so have we.

“The most important thing is that we concentrate, and make sure we win it. We know it will be a hard game, but the best team is going to win it at the end of the day. So we need to stay focused and try to win.”
