Henry Onyekuru is now set to make his long-awaited comeback on Sunday when Anderlecht face Club Brugge in a Belgian championship playoff after playing for an hour in a youth game.
Onyekuru, who has not played for over five months after a serious knee injury, played without any problems for the Anderlecht youth team at Standard Liege on Monday night.
The 20-year-old forward played for an hour in a 2-2 draw.
Onyekuru’s chances of seeing action on Sunday have been further brightened with the suspension of Kenny Seif.
The Nigeria international could now see action even as a substitute on Sunday against Club Brugge.
Anderlecht are five points behind leaders Club Brugge.
