‘Simy’ Nwankwo has backed the Super Eagles to spring surprises at the World Cup in June

Rave of the moment Simeon Nwankwo has told SCORENigeria he hopes the Super Eagles go past a tough World Cup group that has Argentina and Croatia after which “anything will be possible with this team”.

FC Crotone striker ‘Simy’ is the talk of the whole of Italy after his spectacular overhead kick goal pegged back champions Juventus in midweek.

He has already told SCORENigeria it will be an honour to be part of the Nigeria squad to Russia 2018.

He also has high hopes on the team at the World Cup in June.

“The Eagles had a great qualification campaign, which I closely followed,” he remarked.

“It’s a team full of young players, young energy and a lot of quality.

“I believe we will have a great World Cup in Russia even though we are in a tough group.

“Hopefully, we will start well and come out of the group after which anything could be possible with this exciting team.”
