Coach Duke Udi has drawn the battle line against Sunshine Stars after they sacked him today, dismissing his bosses as “incompetent and full of lies”.
A furious Udi told SCORENigeria on the back of his dismissal by the Akure club that he has not been paid a salary this year and the club owe him five match bonuses.
He also alleged he was only paid 250,000 Naira as a special bonus for ensuring Sunshine Stars were not relegated last season even when the agreement was for him to be paid a million Naira.
“It is only in a country like Nigeria that a coach is not paid for more than two months,” Udi told SCORENigeria
“Sunshine also owe him five match bonuses and only paid me 250,000 Naira for helping them escape relegation even though the agreement was for them to pay me a million Naira.”
The young coach has now demanded that he be paid the remainder of his year-long deal rather than the two months’ salary the club have proposed to pay him following the termination of his contract.
He equally fired a broadside on the management of the NPFL club.
“They are incompetent and full of lies,” he alleged.
“That was why the club were docked three points from crowd violence.”
