John Sam Obuh – Quits as Kwara United coach

Kwara United coach John Obuh has turned in his resignation letter, telling SCORENigeria that the results have not been forthcoming for the team under his leadership.

Obuh’s future with ‘The Afonja Warriors’ has been uncertain as they have struggled both on and off the pitch.

SCORENigeria first reported that former Niger Tornadoes coach Abubakar Bala is due to take over the team this week.

Kwara United are currently bottom of the NPFL table, while the players have threatened to boycott the league to press for improved contracts following their promotion to the top flight this past season.

“I resigned because the results were not forthcoming,” Obuh told SCORENigeria

“I do not blame anyone for this.

“I want to return to my family now after which I will know what next to do as a coach.”

He spent three years in his second spell with the Ilorin club.

Kwara United are rock bottom of the NPFL with 11 points from 12 matches.
