Goalkeeper Itodo Akor has told SCORENigeria he is delighted to get his seventh clean sheet of the season as Yobe Stars beat Kano Pillars 2-0 at the weekend in Damaturu.

“I am just focused and helping my team not to concede goals which I did a gain in this match,” a proud Akor said.

“This was my seventh clean sheet in 12 matches this season and I am happy for myself and my team with that statistic.

“Kano Pillars are a very good side but we were so determine as a team to halt their unbeaten run which we did by beating them in out ground 2-0.”

With the newly promoted team currently punching above their weight and sitting pretty in third place many would expect that the players would have surprised themselves, but ex-Enugu Rangers shot stopper Akor maintained that is not the case.

He said, “We have a lot of experienced NPFL players who have played in the league for more than a decade which is a plus to the team and that is one of the secrets of the team in addition with having a sound coach with a great wealth of experience on the job.”

Itodo concluded by stating his target for the season.

“My target as the goalkeeper is to help my team to modest position at the end of the season,” he told SCORENigeria
